Dear Friends,
We are planning the Third Annual Three Village Auction For A Cure ~ APS Type 1 fundraiser to support research into Auto-Immune Polyglandular Syndrome Type 1 (APS Type 1), which affects our son Matthew. Once again, the Setauket Fire House has been tentatively reserved for this event to be held on October 24, 2009.
New this year, WALK - FM Radio is showing a strong interest in sponsoring the event and we are thrilled at this possibility, as it will not only help to boost awareness of APS Type 1, but also for the fund raising benefit as well.
The greatest factor in our past success has been our amazing volunteers, generous contributors, and loyal sponsors. David and I cannot begin to express how grateful we are to have had your help.
At this time we are reaching out to those who have so graciously helped out at our previous events. Given all that needs to be accomplished by October 24th,, we are now hard at work seeking donations to make this year's event more successful than ever. We are seeking your help again this year. Can we count on your support?
Additionally, if you, or a family member, work for a company that participates in a matching donation program, please consider this event. Our friends in New Jersey whose daughter also lives with APS Type 1 were able to raise an extra $10,000 at their May fundraiser through two separate corporate matching donations.
All money raised from this event is sent directly to NORD (APS Type 1 Grant) to further scientific research for finding a cure for APS Type I.
Visit our website, at www.fielddepth.com/apstype1benefit, for additional information on APS Type I, a list of 2008 contributors, and how you can help. You can also contact us directly at 1-631-751-3732.
On a personal note, Matthew's year has been filled with ups and downs. His hospitalizations were kept to a minimum, thank goodness, and while we had some intense scares regarding his health this year, his spirits have remained high. We are so proud of him.
Best Regards, Sherri and David
