I was watching a show aboout Gaby on Medical Mysteries today and it somewhat paralleled what my daughter has gone through. We have been to Dr. after Dr. seeking some sort of answer only to be told there is nothing wrong. She is now 28 years old. She started having apnea seizures at 2 months old. They could find no reason for them. Then at the age of 1 she started having febral seizures. She was put on phenobarbital at 2 months...and still had occasional seizures. She has not had one since she was about 3. However..she started getting what the Dr. referred to as seborric dermatitis on her head. Always had canker sores in her mouth..and as a preteen through present has frequent yeast infections. She eats properly..excercises to extreem sometimes and still is overweight. Nothing seems to work. We just keep hearing..diet..excercise. No one will listen. She has also no periods for months and then when on medication..sometimes regular..sometimes not. Something is not working in her body! The closest we have come to anyone finding anything is she had very high levels of leptin. But nothing else was done. When I saw Gaby's story about APS type 1, I saw many simalarities. Do you have a suggestion as to a Dr. that might listen to ALL the symptoms and put something together? We are in the Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas area but are willing to travel somewhere that might be of help. Thank you so much for your consideration.
