3rd Annual Driving for a Cure Recap

Dear Friends and Family,

It is with great pleasure that we announce our final totals for the 3rd annual “Driving for a Cure” golf outing. We were lucky to have outstanding weather and a group of great individuals that came to support us financially as well. We hope that each of you enjoyed the event this year and we look forward to your attendance in 2010.

Now for the results…we are excited to report that this years event raised a net…$20,880! Our first event just two years ago raised a little over $10,000 and in just two years time we’ve doubled it!!! Also note that a research grants at NORD costs $35,000 so in just one event we achieved 60% of our required total. Wow!

This year we exceeded another milestone breaking the $100,000 dollar mark for the first time since we started our APS Type 1 Restricted Research Grant with NORD in 2006. One down and 9 more to go till we hit our first Million dollars in research money! With research grants already allocated to projects at Johns Hopkins and University of California we can’t stop now and we won’t stop working on this till we have a breakthrough and find a cure for APS Type 1. We can’t do it alone…we need your continued support! We attached the list of all our sponsors this year. If you can assist them in anyway throughout the year please do so. We practice what we preach… we used to use Kodak Gallery for photo’s but not anymore…Shutterfly is the only place we have pictures developed now. Hope that you will do the same and support our sponsors.

The entire Talarico and Tackett Family work hard each year to pull off this event. It is truly a team effort. However, I have to send a special thanks to my brother Tim who stepped up in a huge way this year supporting us with the hole in one program, driving many of you crazy for hole and corporate sponsorship, and keeping us focused on making the most of this years event. We wouldn’t have achieved this performance without you Tim. Thanks Bro!

Well…we have a lot to do in preparation for our 2010 event, we WILL make it better and better every year and we look forward to sharing this experience annually with all of you. For now, we thanks you, we ask that God keeps you and your families happy and most importantly healthy throughout 2009. Enjoy the summer.
